Meet Sou

Sabaidee! I'm Sou, a first-generation Lao-American who moved from Savannakhet, Laos, to Des Moines, Iowa. That's my daughter and I back home in Laos!

Home Roots

  • When I moved to America, I stayed close to my Lao roots by cooking.

  • It started with volunteering and cooking in local kitchens around the Des Moines area.

  • At the same time, sharing hearty meals with our friends and family who craved a taste of home.

Turning Up The Heat

Meals for friends and family started turning into catering for friends and family. I started roasting peppers and making my homemade Jeow Bong, a sweet & hot chili paste found in Lao food. In 2019, I started bottling up my chili paste and the rest is history. Since then, I have been proudly serving the Des Moines community delicious and real food at an affordable price.
